One Healthcare Provider Sets Up Another

Unitedhealth Group (UNH) reported its latest quarterly results on Thursday morning, easily surpassing its revenue and EPS estimates, and then also raising guidance. It potentially is setting up Anthem, Inc. (ANTM) for a possible blowout earnings report as well. ANTM has been consolidating for months and approached a breakout on the UNH earnings report. It may make the breakout on its own report next week:

The AD line has been steadily increasing throughout the year and ANTM's relative strength vs. its health care providers ($DJUSHP) peers is solid as well. One problem has been the DJUSHP's inability to perform well vs. the benchmark S&P 500 as it recently touched a 52-week relative low. But if the group continues its recent relative bounce and ANTM can sail past its estimates, it very well could be poised for a key breakout.
