The absolute and relative strength is apparent. Finally, the AD line is confirming this bullish action. Increasing volume in January has accompanied a surge in price, indicative of very heavy accumulation. MKSI also is in that sweet spot of small- to mid-size companies leading the market action the past several months. Because MKSI has already run so much - 80% since late October - I'd be very interested if the following scenario were to
develop: MKSI reports better-than-expected revenues and EPS, raises guidance, and then sells off after earnings to test its rising 20 day EMA. I like buying companies posting great results after they see a bit on "after the news" selling.
Later today, I'll be hosting our quarterly "Q4 Earnings". It's one of the most widely-anticipated events of earnings season and I'll be divulging many of the my favorite stocks in my favorite industry groups as they get set to report earnings over the next few weeks. I'll also provide some stocks that you might want to be careful of as their earnings are released. These companies could be providing us warnings in advance.
