Character Changes Can Work in Both Directions
***************************************************************
Recently, I've discussed "character changes" as stocks have reversed from downtrends into uptrends with better-than-expected earnings results. I even took it a step further by introducing our Value Portfolio, which consists of 10 equal-weighted stocks from 10 different industries, and with 1 common ingredient. They were all either downtrending or sideways consolidating
(after a recent downtrend) prior to reporting excellent earnings results and gapping higher. Since Tuesday, November 19th (its inception date), the Value Portfolio has gained 4.19%, while the S&P 500 has gained just 0.65%. That's a lot of outperformance in just one week. This strategy clearly has merit. It's also important to understand that uptrends can end abruptly and, when they do, it's time to exit. I believe that's the case with Kirkland Gold
